You must, Ruby. :D Some of the recipies are excellent 'stick to your ribs' food and it's very cheap to do. Personally I prefer 'We'll eat again', my copy of which is getting a bit tatty now from over use! :D

I'm working from home today so I have it in front of me right now :D - I will pick out one thing and make it this weekend I promise :D

Edit: I only have 'We'll Eat Again' too - must have lent the Victory one to MIL I think

Indeed. Now I know I'm going to be up late! She's really impressive for her age. Bless her, she's still as sharp as a knife!:D

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

I've got several thin Marguerite Patten books - picked them up for pence in charity shops. House clearance shops are often really good for these; usually the effects of elderly people, so you're getting the original books!

She is superb isn't she. I think the interviewer commented that he was finding the interview length rather taxing and was impressed with her stamina. Also very interested in how she managed to fight off arthritis with a change in her diet. I have to say to anyone who reads this if you're just starting cooking for yourself her books are always good value and the meals tend to be economical. My favourite is still Cookery in Colour which is a large blue hardback book, often found in charity shops.:D

Brilliant interview, fabulous lady. 90, for goodness sake, and she looks at least 20 years younger (and sounds at least 30 years younger).

Ooooh! That's a terrible thing to say to someone when they're alive! That's nearly as bad as a 'Legend'!:D

    But it is true.:D
