Advice on Jeweller

Hi

I am looking for some advice/recommendations on Jewellers. I am planning to surprise my wife for Christmas with a nice piece of jewellery ... but I am unsure which jeweller to go to in London. Can anyone give me some names/places for me to go to in London? I am looking for nice, outstanding quality jewellery, not any OTT stuff (and most certainly not any HM Samuels, been disappointed too many times with them and their quality)/ Happy to spend a little more for the right piece and jeweller.

Any advice/guidance appreicated.

This is your man. My OH trained with him many years ago in London and he's an excellent craftsman.

I noticed you can use your tesco vouchers for Goldsmiths, what are they like? I'm assuming very overpriced if they can afford to give £10 for every £2.50 in vouchers on watches jewellry!
    Anyone any views/experience with them?

All jewellers are overpriced. You get better value for money by commissoning a piece. It's not as expensive as you think and usually cheaper than quality retailers. You get to pick your stones from a selection, pick your mount etc.

Lots of goldsmiths or jobbing jewellers as they are called within the trade in Londons Hatton Garden and Birmingham Jewellery quarter.

If you're in London, then Hatton Garden has to be the way to go. Just remember lots of shops there close early Fridays and it's generally closed at the weekend.
