Best Place to Find a Part Time Job?

I'm self employed at the moment, but its not looking like I'll be making enough over the next couple of months to cover everything - there are two huge bills that need paid. Once they're gone, we've worked out a budget that will cover everything, but we need that money now :(

I usually look for jobs on reed.co.uk, but they seem short on part time stuff these days, and I appear to have missed Christmas recruitment at a lot of the local stores.

Would any job hunters be willing to recommend sites where they find part time jobs - I'm looking for mostly customer service / data entry a couple of days a week.

I noticed signs in M&S and Argos for Xmas staff on Saturday. Also contact local council see if they have any vacancies for Lolly Pop Ladies or school ancillary staff. Most councils have job vacancies on-line so check out their websites.

Ditto. I noticed the signs in town too.

What about supermarkets? They are always looking for staff

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

Check out estate agents they often need weekend receptionists that kind of thing. They always seem to be on the lookout for people to distribute leaflets as well.

Thanks for the ideas - I assumed since I'd missed most of the other stores recruitment windows, places like M&S would be done too - will give them a look!

There's an Asda nearby, I'll look there as well.

Are they normally fast with interview / getting started?

Also check your local newspapers? Do you get any delivered free?

Try your local council as well - they may have jobs going.

Also be prepared for a wait as well. If you want the job sooner rather than later I would look at companies that are fairly small as their recruitment process will be so much quicker. Big companies will probably take an age for the whole process.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • you don't need to restrict yourself to data entry - if you've got admin skills (only Microsoft office) you can do loads of different types of admin. In the NHS for example there's loads of part-time temps

also, do you drive? When my OH was training he drove Parcelforce vans - not a bad earner really!
