    Hair shampoo.
  • I use Mac Brush Cleanser

But i've heard the ELF one is quite good and much cheaper!

  • Baby Shampoo, wash with barrel of brush down so water doesn't get into the shaft. Squeeze with clean towel and dry overnight, flat on another clean towel.

You should do this every few days as its only yourself using the brushes. Don't use brush cleaner as its very strong and can melt the glue.

I trained as a make-up artist yet my mum washes her brushes once a year. Nice :p This is why she is never allowed to used any of mine lol
  • lol at least your mum cleans them! Thanks for the info, will wash them later :)
  • Yep, hair shampoo is best. Funnily enough I cleaned my brushes yesterday, and I was quite disgusted by the colour of the water after I'd washed my bronzer brush! Think I left it a bit too long in between washes *oops*

Oh God the woman does my head in, only cleans them when I shout about them.
  • I love the Bobbi Brown blush cleanser but any shampoo without too many -cones in it should be fine.

I second the Mac cleaner its excellent.

  • Baby wash is good - I've always used asda's baby head to toe wash, leaves them squeaky clean, multi purpose product, and costs about £1 for loads :)
