Well I'm a first time poster long term reader of the forum and I just want to thank anyone that is reading this thread because i greatly appreciate anyones advice.
I'll start with the basics, I'm 18 and I work full time in a call centre and my base rate for a year is £15,300, I recently moved out of my parents with my partner, his base rate is £22,100 and he works in the county council offices. His wage covers basically all our costs, Rent, food, Bills etc all his wage goes on all the bills we have and my wage is left to pay 'spends' like meals, petrol, nights out, purchases, basicaly anything thats not a bill.
Unfortunatley at my place of work we have been told more than liely that our jobs shall be being made redudant very shortly (I mean before xmas), So I am desperatly thinking of something in which I can do.
I have searched and searched for the last month for jobs galore but I have no luck in finding any or any I do find are out of my reach.
In one way I am lucky because the bills are ok and there paid but we need money to spend every month, I just need a job for the time bein or something that can get us by so to say , something where I can make minimum £800 a month. I am willing to do anything and everything and will put in as much hours as I can!.
I have had the last week off of work and I have been researching every single day of this week racking my brains searching through the internet for something to do. I have opened up an ebay shop and put everything i have spare in the hosue that we no longer need on to sell but I understand that this isnt a good source of income as its going to run out soon, i have searched for wholesalers maybe to buy stuff and sell for profit. I really have the drive and I'm desperate to do anything.
Unfortunatley I dont have much savings so I cant invest a massive amount into stock or anything at the moment.
I would love any help someone could give me just to put me in the right direction to make a level income so i can survive.
Thanks for any replies !

I hope you'll forgive me for being a bit blunt but I think you might be lacking in imagination here. If you have basic maths and english and customer services skills and experience you can work in hundreds of jobs. So have you looked at shop work, office admin roles, sales roles, etc etc.
And you probably need to forget the idea that anything is out of your reach too. I've been lucky in that I've managed to stay in a job continuously since i left school but whenever I have applied for new jobs I've always sought to gain an improvement from the new job, better pay or better hours or whatever. Don't restrict yourself to only looking for the job you have been doing until now, or the pay band you have been in until now. If you were on 15k there's nothing stopping you applying for jobs that offer 20k or 25k, which could allow you to realise your full potential.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -
Pull together a CV so that you have all your information in one place as it'll help you when filling out application forms.
Where have you been looking for jobs?
Have a walk around your local area, speak to job agencies, have a look at online sites such as NHS Jobs, your local county council website, local papers etc...
A lot of getting a job is learning to sell yourself. As KME91 said, there are plenty of different jobs you are able to do. You've got a background in customer service which is a great start - Customer service experience is important in a wide range of jobs. Don't worry about not having any direct experience, it's a matter of moulding your current experience and knowledge to the job description

I can see your panicking, you need to step back.
There a lots of things you can 'put on a back burner' you dont need nights out, you wont be going to work so your petrol costs will come down. You wont need to spend on food for lunchtime works.
Now write everything down that isnt a bill, then cross the things out that you can do without short/medium term.
Then add that up, compare it to JSA for the month you wont be really that far out, hope that stops yu worrying so much.
Goodluckmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you really want to work, register with some agencies. Be realistic about what you will be prepared to do (would you work in a factory, for example) and visit the appropriate agencies accordingly. You may need to adjust your lifestyle a little if you can't get the £800 a month you'd like straight away, but it's better than Jobseeker's.
I temped through an agency for 8 months and survived (I don't know how we did at the time!) on £170 a week, till I got a permanent job with the co paying £19k a year.0
