Fatbeetle, do come back here and tell us how you feel when you settled in "back home"
Those of us who have been away are always curious how it would feel.
Oh I will mate, don't worry.
This forum has already proved a great resource, and planning aid.
The accumulated knowledge here is phenomenal, I'll happily admit that my joining here was prompted by the thought of drawing on the collective consciousness and knowledge here.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -

Marine life, your choice of pale lime on white background for links is abysmal, especially for anyone with poor eyesight, whom statistically will be more likely to be the readers of your blog.0 -

I agree with AnotherJoe (in mobile Safari) on the low contrast, although in my RSS reader (Newsify) the links appear in a more readable blue. As I'm not yet (quite) old enough for drawdown, my eyesight is getting prepared for old(er) age...0 -

I hear you and you're not the first to say it - I've now edited to blue - hope you like it ;-)Money won't buy you happiness....but I have never been in a situation where more money made things worse!0 -

Is this some sort of test? It didn't bother my eyes - does it mean I'm just too young for early retirement:D0 -

Now if you could just have a look at the text under "Rent our apartment"... 😉0 -

Just found out today that the company I work for will be taken over so, depending on how things pan out, I might be taking early retirement a little earlier than I might have.
Will get a nice sum from the company share save scheme too.
I mentioned to my wife just in passing that, if I was made redundant, I'd probably retire full time and not actively seek paid employment.
The cat enjoyed my dinner.:D

May I be so bold as to proffer some marital advice. I think what you meant to say was '........retire full time, not actively seek full time employment so that you can take some of the housework burden off her and finally have time to finish painting the back bedroom/repairing the fence/digging up the 1970s rockery.
Of course you won't but it smooths the transition.;)0
