OK, very stupidly put one of those hand warmed in boiling water to get it ready to use next time.

Forgot it was on the hob

Now exploded! :eek:

House stinks! windows open etc but smell really isnt going - waiting on oven to cool down to clean.

Anything else i can do ? got a visitor later and house is ponging!

  • Do you have any scented candles or similar you could burn? I use Yankee candles stuff. Even takes away the smell of curry!

    Apart from that, keep airing the house and it should clear.

    bake some bread or cakes the smell from them should help to cover it

    Boil a spponful of coffee grounds in a pan of water and then leave it simmering gently for a bit.

    Don't really think the OP should be trusted simmering things on the hob though as its doing exactly that that got her into this mess :D
