EDF's £100 bonus
Options
Will we actually get EDF's £100 entry bonus? When you look at the small print they talk of being on supply by 30 November.. or whatever the terminology is. And I wonder whether signing up now or last week as I did, gives enough time to be on supply by the 30th. Are they tricking us into signing up and are then going to say we were actually too late or will we get it for applying before the end date?

When you made contact with them yourself or via a comparison site the contract was made its only switching over that takes time
No trick It takes less than an hour You are already to receive your £100 the time it says in their contract0 -
They actually talk of signing up by 30 November and the customers account going live on supply.
So you can sign up anytime up to 30 November. Of course you will only get the money if the switch actually then goes ahead (i.e. the customers account goes live on supply)
Edit: perhaps of more interest is the fact it also says the credit is not redeemable or refundable if the customer subsequently changes supplier before the end of the tariff period (31st December 2011) even though its credited within 90 days
(which I take as another effective £100 early exit fee in addition to the £60 early exit fee that also applies)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I still think it's the best option to date {£100 credited within 90 days of becoming a new customer to your account}0 -

As a matter of interest Tortoise, what rates were you offered, and what rates are you on at the moment with your current supplier? (i.e. how much per kwh are you/will you be paying)?
I ask because I looked into the new online tariff being offered, and it was quite a bit more (11.79p v 8.2p day, and 4.77p v 4.1p night) than I'm currently paying.0 -
Rates for EDF online saver7 are:
Elec.. daily charge 26.66, unit 8.16p plus VAT
Gas.. daily charge 24.37, unit 2.639p plus VAT
At the moment I'm on different rates with British Gas due to them messing around changing the meters at different times from PPM to credit:
Elec.. standard.. tier1 22.378p, tier2 10.638p plus VAT
Gas.. websaver9.. tier1 6.216p, tier2 2.767p plus VAT
EDF came out cheapest on the comparison sites even when I said I was on websaver9 for both fuels. I don't mind being locked in for a year or so. The £100 plus £80 from Quidco makes it worth it even if I do have to pay the leaving fee for gas from BG. I have a complaint ongoing with them just now and have suggested that they let me go free as a goodwill gesture... LOL0 -

With the £100 cash back +£40 cash back I could use 28,000kw gas and
6,200 kw of electricity for £101 each month. Which is what it is costing me at the present time for this amount with OVO but also {On any money in credit each month OVO gives all customers each month an interest reward cash credit} but my {12 month fixed price} with OVO was in May before prices took off so I think EDF is a great deal0
