well he must have delcared it ias he certainly isnt hiding it, for a start we wouldnt know he had that much if it was hidden, and the poster wouldnt either.

he may have declared the money to csa and provided any paper work to get him out of it. he could have taken over power of atternoey for someone.

if he put the income from rent they csa would jump on that if they legally could.

they basically going on his work, and if he does low payed job they you dont get alot. simple.

because he has few quid in bank doesnt mean hes on fiddle. also contacting all the government dept about few quid he has could come back to bite you.

it could be deemed as harassment if he wanted to go that way, i did this to my ex wife, calling around saying i had this and this and was breaking this law etc when it was found i wasnt. harassment

    Hi there

He hasn't declared any of this income to the CSA, only his wages, which initially he didn't....I had to tell the CSA he had moved jobs, moved house...everytime they contacted him he ignored them and so did his employer....its only because I persevered they finally got him to send his wage slips in.

He isn't on a a particularly low paid job either, all the overtime he gets he isn't declaring, its paid to him in cash.

The rental income is taxable income and he needs to declare it, the same as I would have to if I was subletting...simple !!

All this extra income has only come to light as we have had to exchange form E's via our solicitors to do with our divorce....the CSA haven't had sight of any other information, up till now.

  • After speaking to the CSA again, they are very keen to investigate where all this extra income has come from....if he isn't hiding anything then he has nothing to worry about....the fact he hasn't exchanged most of his financial documents to me and has a long history of financial dishonesty during our marriage suggests he is....I cannot see how it can be harrassment, its just financial investigation to ensure he isn't hiding his assets, diverting his income and declaring everything he should.

I am subject to scrutiny by the tax man being partly self employed, I can't claim harrassment everytime they need extra information...the rules are no different for him either. If he was up front from the beginning I wouldn't have to be going down this route. He halted our private agreement a year ago, without warning or explanation and I missed out on nearly 6 weeks worth of maintainence because of the delay in CSA assessment. I have since discovered he had over 7k in his bank account yet he was and still is pleading poverty.

I have absolutley no compunction in making sure he has to jump through as many hoops as possible to ensure our child receives what she deserves. He would much rather drink and gamble her money but I won't let that happen while I have breath in my body.
