Quick Q re Nectar points at Debenhams

I did a biggish shop at Debenhams last week and stupidly forgot to give them my Nectar card  I've since found a coupon at home for triple points at Debenhams before 26/10/06.

Do you know if it's possible to get the points added if I take my receipt back to Debenhams and give them my Nectar card then? I know this is possible with Boots Advantage Points + Tesco CC points but never tried with Debenhams + Nectar.

Thanks in advance.

  • Sorry I've asked before and Debenhams staff are now told not to ask for your Nectar card when you make a purchase and they don't add on points after the transaction is complete. Maybe Nectar were giving away too many points on Debenhams purchases. I've kicked myself many times not remembering to hand over my card.

  • Kerry is right. Just go back and ask them . I work for them and it is possible to put them back on by scanning the reciept. The till allows the staff to do so.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on.

I have had points added after the original purchase. And its right Debenhams do not ask for your Nectar card now because they are thinking of pulling out of the scheme. I was told this by the assistant who refunded my points, because I questioned why I had missed the opportunity to use my card.

  • This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I actually remembered my Nectar card as the payment transaction was happening. The sales assistant (who had not asked for my card) said that she could not put it through and I would have to phone customer services at the Head Office. Thought it was odd as in the past I have had points added instore from old receipts.

I did telephone Customer Services who said that they could not add any points after the transaction was complete. Basically they said I could be fabricating the sale. In the end, I actually returned the items and bought them again, this time remembering to use my Nectar card.

I also had huge difficulties getting Debenhams online to honour a bonus Nectar points code. Eventually they allowed it as a goodwill gesture but only after 4 emails chasing them up. I am going to make a point now of pulling out my nectar card before the cash!

i was going to suggest this. its not the easiest way really but if the shop wont let you do it sensibly then you have to manipulate the system.

I am truly amazed. I am a Sales Assistant and put the points on for someone this weekend. Madness.

  • Also having trouble with nectar points and debenhams, I bought some bedding in July and use a promotional code they had sent me to get 1000 bonus points but they never got added, this happened on 2 separate orders and i've now had to send my debenhams delivery notes to prove I bought the items so that my points can get added! STILL waiting to hear back from them......
