ive been mulling around for a month or two now getting the nerve to post properly,im 67 retired and just get a small pension of £164 per month the main earner being my husband,we have total debts of 34000 and just cannot survive at the moment paying our bills so reluctantly have decided on the bankrupt route, below are figures without paying any bills to credit cards etc, food is so high because i am diabetic and take insulin and have to watch my diet all the time, our rent is taken out of wages at source because hubby works for housing association were we live, his debts total 30,000 mine about 4000 but a loan of 9000 is joint would i still be able to go bankrupt or would i be refused and have to do a debt relief order,a friend did a debt relief order and it took months to complete,i would rather go bankrupt with hubby and get it over with and done, hubby may get made redundant in december would get about £4000 would he keep it or would o/r take it all,and would they take his company pension when he retires in three years,we had a car on finance that has already gone back to finance company been replaced with small runabout

  • Hi there
Your medical is very high (yes, i've read your reasons and i know Dojo said to add the extras to medical, but its now too high)
Do you not get free prescriptions and glasses/eye checks etc?

If that really is the figure, then you'd be best keeping records/reciepts and producing them.

Sorry if that comes across as harsh, it really isn't meant to be, but i'd hate you to feel that your SOA is all good, then to get a shock if the OR disallows.

Presents won't be allowed either but you can include a holiday :T

    Good luck x
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

Are you both going BR? if so split the medical between you, as you will have to do individual SOA`s anyway. BLTN is spot on about it being too high on the SOA posted, my wife and I were allowed £30 each for medical on our SOA`s The emergency fund amount will not be allowed as well.
