Leaking slate roof needs fixed

Hi folks,

I've just discovered a leak in my roof, which is letting water in through the attic and now it's seeping through the landing ceiling.

We've had someone out - Belfast Roofing Service Ltd - who's said that some missing slates which will need replaced and some guttering will need unblocked. Been quoted about £250 for the job.

Anybody used these folks, or could recommend a reasonable crowd based around Belfast?

I have a cracked slate and a small bit of flashing missingon my roof at the back of my house. The roofer appeared an hour after I phoned him and even though I wasn't in he asked my neighbours if he could go out their back to have a look at it. He quoted 120 quid to fix it and will be here at 9.30 this morning! Am impressed so far, but will let you know how he went later this afternoon.

Well I am very pleased with the roofers!! They came this morning bang on time, fixed what was wrong at the back ie flashing, replaced four tiles and a bit of felt. Also fixed a few other loose slates at the front, cleaned up after them and charged 120 quid as agreed. I have tiles but the roofer explained that slates are actually better. No pressure to get anything else done and told me to phone anytime if I needed any further work done. They were: Harmon Roofing Contractors, 07713084728 and the gentleman I dealt with was called Adian.

Great! I'll give him a call too - sounds like the same sort of job I was quoted twice your price for!
