Buying ex partner out of mortgage / house

  • I have considered that, though it would affect my currently impeccable credit rating as much as his so it'd be cutting off my nose to spite his face really.

He's agreed to drop the price by a wopping £10k. The estate agent actually called yesterday to suggest we do that so after initially saying that was a bit "dramatic" he's agreed. So I guess we just have to hope that that helps a bit. If not, we'll just have to drop it again. Unless he's prepared to accept a sensible offer from me to buy him out and I am silly enough to do it...

  • Hi,
Seems your ex is taking time to adjust to the situation. I suggest you try and get him to see the positives of selling up and both moving on. My guess is that he's digging his heels in but not really looking at the future. What if he meets someone new ? my guess is he will want to a separate place to live. Try selling the positives - he can only see the ££ loss. Also can you get the EA to speak to him about the realities of the market

Good Luck - I think you will get there - slowly then you would like (& I understand the frustration)
