I need a temporary loan - best company to use?

Options
It's a long and complicated story, but the short of it:

I took out a loan with Wonga.com, that is due in December (I've extended it) and in December I'll be getting a large payment for some contract work I've done, this is all fine but in the mean time I need to pay a bill (£300). I talked to my bank regarding setting up an overdraft however that will take a couple of days, I need to pay my dues b Saturday.

I've been looking all over but the majority of other companies seem very shady, I've tried quickquid before but didn't like them so I'd rather not back with them. I can pay off the loan in 30 days no problem, but I need to find a company that is a) good and b) willing to accept me.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best payday loan companies, not including Wonga and quickquid? I need to take out a £300 loan that I can payback in full (+whatever fees) in 30 days.

Thanks :)

It's not technically a single bill, it's the amount I've negotiated for rent for the next 4 weeks -- until my contract payment comes through.

Id try and negotiate again with them and try not to go for any sort of payday loan.

I am in a position where I have no choice but to pay, however I am also in a position where a pay day loan isn't an issue, it's not any sort of gamble based on current costs, I can afford to pay it off when December arrives without issue. I just need to know the better/reliable companies to use :)

    Have you tried Zopa then?

I hadn't heard of them, but it seems all their loans are £1k+ over 36 months, much more than I need! I guess worst case I can take one out and pay it back in a month, but I'd much rather avoid that! Thanks for the name though!

It's worth having a look on quidco or topcashback as the pay day loan companies on there can often pay around £40 referral commission. That would pretty much cover your fees in this instance hence giving you 'free money'. However, evn the pay day loan people can take a few days to actually process the application meaning funds might not be there on time.

What about a pawn shop? You take in something of value and get money. You then buy back effectively when you have money (with a fee). Anything you have of value? Gold? Ring? Necklace? Undiscovered Van Gogh painting worth a few mil?

    Borrow it from a parent

    borrow it from a friend

ask your boss for an advance

    sell some unused property

approach the dss for a crisis loan

pay your bill a few days late

All of those optioons should come well before any consideration to take a payday loan. Like it or not, even when used responsibly these companies can still get people locked into a cylce that is likely to end in tears. I know, I have been caught by these !!!!!!!s myself.
  • None of those are an option, I need to use a payday loan.

You just want a payday loan, right I get it. Your reasoning points to nothing other than you wanting to borrow money. I can't see how a landlord cannot wait 3 days for their rent, when your said overdraft comes in.

Good luck, getting out of debt again... that is of course assuming you have the intentions of paying it back.
