I've just applied again, after I missed getting in, in time a few weeks ago.
The automated response I've had says they will send the application pack to me shortly.

Yep, but I can see she's online so hopefully it won't be too long before I hear. I am itching to get into it, I'll be gutted if she says my answers weren't good enough

As long as you earn over the minimum level for payment, unless they have told you otherwise I don't see why you wouldn't get paid in December.

And am I right in assuming that the money earned answering the 30 initial questions also goes towards the monthly total? I know it's only £9 but every little helps

I can only see jobs in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Maybe all the vacancies are gone...

Or am I missing something?

It was a couple of years ago when I joined, but certainly I got paid for all of the questions I answered including the initial ones. They were 'live' questions that a customer paid for, so it would be very unfair if you didn't get paid for them. I always found that AQA were very good in paying what you'd earned.
