Hi all,
I've been overpaying a little every month for a few years now, started with £50 and managed to work our way up to £200 a month while the interest rate's low
I was hoping to pay £10k capital off by February which would be our 4yr anniversary in this house and thanks to a little bit of offsetting money while I save up to pay our loan off we've managed to do the first 10K this month :j
I know it's fairly insignificant given the size of our mortgage but I feel like I've finally started getting somewhere :T

That's brilliant - time to set the next target now! We have a fairly big mortgage too and I make much smaller OP's than you but I am sure it all makes a big difference and we will all be mortgage free before we know it!Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0

Well I'm really quietly hoping to pay off another £10k of capital next year. It's a big ask but I've paid off a lot of our debts this year, alongside overpayments, and hopefully will pay off the bike loan early next year leaving a good bit extra each month.
The poor kids are going to be living off beans-on-toast for the foreseeable future.....
