Why can't I just wear ivory????

Aaaarrrggghhh....I can't make my mind up on what colour I want to wear!!! I've had my heard set on wearing purple, preferably a very deep plum shade. My 16yr old stepdaughter will be my BM and a while ago she saw this lovely silvery dress (described as bronze but its a dark silver really). I thought that would look lovely with purple. However she later changed has mind and fell in love with this one instead.
As we'd promised to buy it for her and she'll also use it as her prom dress, and as it's Cadbury purple which I know I don't want to wear myself, we've bought it. That means I now HAVE to wear a different shade anyway so I don't clash with her, and I thought a dark purple would look good contrasting with hers anyway. Last weekend I tried on a few to get some colour ideas in my head....and in one shop they totally threw me by bringing out a silvery (technically platinum) dress for me to try...and I loved it!
Tonight I found a shop selling dresses in each colour and tried both on to try to decide which I liked myself in best and really cannot now decide what to do. I feel like getting Harry Hill to sort it out for me :rotfl::rotfl:
Problem is that I have a visit to a certain dressmaker on Saturday so really need to start getting my mind made up. I even tried making myself look at traditional ivory dresses as if I could convince myself that's what i want, just to do away with all this deciding, but I know it isnt. Sorry for the rant...anyone else having wobbles that they know they need to sort but just can't???

A platinum dress sounds lovely, and if you love it why no go for it? :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Why not try each of the colours you like with your BM's colour of cadbury purple, and see which suits both you and each other?

But can't you just take the BM dress back and swop it for a different colour if it ends up clashing with the platinum one you said you loved?;)

Because the OP's H2B's daughter will be BM, she has fallen in love with that dress, the BM dress will also be her prom dress and the OP & H2B have promised to buy it for her....?

Can't you wear silver and purple?
Silver dress with purple shoes or purple shrug, purple flowers, etc.

Then you get the best of both worlds. (Plus I think it would look amazing.)

When i have two things to choose from i toss a coin.

If i'm dissapointed by the outcome, then clearly the other one was right for me.
saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
We're 29% of the way there...

    That's a great idea!

I had the wobbles about my dress after bring told it didn't look very bridal - right up until I walked down the aisle - then my hubby cried and I knew I had made the perfect decision! I knew deep inside it was right for me but was worried what others would say! I would say to go for the one you love! It will be the right one! x

I had big decisions over my dress, it was the second dress I tried on and I loved it, but I wanted to try on a billion dresses-as I've been waiting 33 years to try wedding dresses on!-so I carried on looking for a couple of months. Then I went dress shopping with my Ma, sister & aunty and tried on an Ian Stuart dress (this) when I walked out of the dressing room my Mother burst into tear, so did the Aunty, and the sister actually smiled and all told me THAT was the one, it was so me, wasn't it beautiful rah.rah..rah but I didn't think it WAS me, it was a bit too OTT oh, and it was £4k!! It didn't help that the lady in the shop then offered me the shop sample for £1k less-according to Mother, that was A Sign!! I stuck to my guns, and a week later went back to my original shop and said I'd put a deposit down on the original dress I'd tried on and the way I felt made me know it was the right one FOR ME!!
You do what YOU want to do, don't worry about clashing, people will be far too busy looking at the happy couple to think "OMG-LOOK at those colours!" And if they are-are they really your freinds?!

Thanks all....I don't actually think I'll clash, I've been carrying round some ribbon the same colour as BM dress so can see how my colour would look against it. Her purple with a very dark one looks good....and her purple with me in silver/platinum would also look good. I just cant decide which I like best!! For ages I've had the dark purple in my head and trying the platinum has now just added an alternative and my head hurts making my mind up! Think it may come down to the coin tossing if the friend I'm seeing tomorrow cant help me decide - she'll see me in both colours and I know she'll be honest!
I never had this problem first time around - in the first shop I fell in love with the 2nd dress I tried and that was it, never a doubt - just wish with all my supposed maturity now I could stop getting all wound up:rotfl:

No you don't have to make up your mind by the weekend. However, platinum sounds rather lovely!!
I have a massive shade card range. We look at swatches which match YOUR SKIN TONE and order in those we feel could suit. We NEVER match to the bridesmaids dress. YOU are number 1. Stop panicking.

(ps. looking forward to seeing you. xx)
