Help Needed (please)

I am soon to get a lump sum off one of my OH friends(woo-hoo)

Anyway to get to my point,is there anything I can do to get them to settle for less than the total amount due

Due I just ask them or do I wait until a certain time - maybe near christmas?

Any advice would be very much appreciated

there's only one way of finding out.. just ask! I think most would do you a deal to pay it off ASAP.

Hello and welcome

Generally, companies will accept a full and final settlement offer if your account is defaulted with them. There would be no gain for them if your account is running smoothly to accept a F&F.

I don't know what your circumstances are but may be worth posting a statement of affairs for us to offer advice

really really basics here

I owe a couple of credit cards about 2 to 2 and half grand each(with late payments included in them-but cant do the claim back bank charges yet until i get some money to pay for the statements to be sent to me :mad: -will do though)
bank loan 4000( they already said I could pay 3000 if I had the money)
OH has a 3000 debt (they said we could pay 1300)
Littlewoods 700
Debenhams 700
Car loan 3000
Barclays bank account -now closed-1100 (with at least 4*£100 going over overdraft charges)-will be claiming that back aswell-when/if I get this money

3-4 more which come to about agrand

All these are defaulted accounts and me and OH are paying them off gradually through Payplan at £600 a month
