Hello
Just a quick one. I just wanted to check if you adopt are you entitled to maternity leave. Is maternity leave more about bonding with the baby than recovering from the birth itself?
Thanks in advance

No, but in a way yes.
If I recall correctly you are entitled to the same length of time off with the same level of statutory payments but it's adoption leave not maternity leave.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

And of course, because its not Maternity Leave, the bloke can have a year off adoption leave, and the woman (if a hetrosexual couple) can have the paternity leave.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
