I think it's probably an accounting thing. Each store will have it's own cost centre, so the wage cost will be transferred from his normal store to where the OP was covering.0 -

Basically each store has a budget to spend on hours per week, the amount that is set aside for me at my store had to be covered by the store that I was covering at, so I had to re-arrange the rota and cut members of staffs hours so I could save money to transfer to my store to cover the amount that is paid to me.
I am not taking unpaid leave as I am being paid for my contracted hours for this week.0 -
It may not be right, but once you have 'Manager' in your job title you are expected to do any hours necessary to get the job done, and most of the time unpaid. Have you considered that maybe you don't want to be management.Life is too short to drink bad wine!0
