Census forms this time round are being mailed out, with exeption of communal establishments. Having said that, you are still likely to have a lot of evening and weekend work with the picking up of the completed forms.

I have done it before in a predominantly rural area which was great - getting paid to drive round the countryside and walk round some lovely villages! Not sure I would enjoy it in an inner city area.

I've done 2 census's now (censi??) and won't be doing this one. I was an enumerator in the first and a manager in the second, and I suppose that I probably have the experience to be a regional manager now, but it's all too much hassle for me right now. Plus I think for regional manager I've probably missed the boat.......

I've got through to the telephone interview stage. Anyone know what I should expect / whether I'll be speaking to a real person / how long it'll take? Bit nervous!!

It's about ten minutes. Its a 'competency based interview'. Just google those words for some examples, but basically you need to be able to recall specific situations from previous jobs to prove your ability for this job IYSWIM.

    Hi

Ive also got through to the telephone interview, ive just gone for very part time because i imagine it will be tough to fit around my other job and homelife. It says it will last 15 minutes which is long enough really. Mine is on the 30th of this month , hope it goes well :)
  • I did this last time too. It will be a definite improvement to post them out. it was handy as an extra bit of income at the time, but the hassle was when people weren't in when you went to collect them. You couldn't claim for extra hours even though you had to make 3 attempts to go and collect the form. I generally found people were fairly pleasant, although it was amazing how many people didn't even know what a census was.
