Tescos are doing it for 9.99 - but 2.74 delivery....? (delivered on day of release)
I know most of the book shops are doing it - but who is the best?
Aren't Tesco offering it at this price on the high street anyway (minus delivery)?:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
I need 2 copies for 2 girls. So I have pre-ordered at Amazon, and get free delivery as the order is over £19. They won't get it on relase day anyway unless they give up £10 of their pocket money...otherwise they have to wait until their birthdays.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

This has been posted quite a few times before, but with the release of the last book, all the supermarkets (Sainsburys/Tescos/Asda) had stacks of them on release day, and were all selling it for £6.87. I personally will be waiting until release day (16th July) and popping into Asda to get it first thing.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Hope this is the right board! (relative newbie)I am looking for the best deal on the new Harry Potter book, most places seem to be doing it for £9.99, anyone seen any better? or are there any groovy free gifts going from any retailers. It HAS to be here on the day of publication or I will be hung, drawn and quartered0

Hi dakirk,
Welcome to MSE.
As there was already a thread on this topic on the board, I have merged your thread into it.

As JK lives in Edinburgh, well some of the time, the last book publication day I took my daughter and a neighbours child into town for the midnight opening to queue at the main Waterston's thinking she might well be there.
We queued for the alloted time with all the other mad people but no sign of JK. My neighbour's child, not being good MSE'rs had sent her with the money to buy one at the full price so we duly did that and on the way home I stopped at the 24 hour Tesco and plenty on sale there from midnight for around a tenner.
Next morning read in the paper that in fact JK had been at that particular shop but they must have taken her in and out of the back door as she did a book signing in a back room for local kids from the primary school her daughter had attended. I did wonder why there seemed to be a lot of people standing about to the back of the shop and this was obviously the parents waiting for their kids.
Heard on the news recently that this time she is doing a reading at Edinburgh Castle at midnight once again for local kids but not sure how these kids are being allocated a place.0
