Curiouser and curiouser. I obviously know now this was the wrong thing to do and now feel a million times worse than I did thinking I was asking for advice a couple of hours ago. I am not here to be judged, like many that post on here and not one of you has any idea about my life.
Thanx for those genuine posters and the advice. Shame some of you have so much free time to search through old posts, judge people and delve into their histories..
What do you expect? People routinely check back for previous SOAs etc.
If you have a step-sister who has been defrauding you then a lot of people will feel really sorry for you; we had one family on here where the mother had Provi loans in the names of all her daughters, all unpaid; and at least two whose husbands had signed secured loans in their names.
If however you or your family members have been running up credit in your own or others' names without making proper provision to pay, then you are ruining our lives as well as your own, because that sort of behaviour is as much at the root of the current credit crisis as the *ankers. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Nobody was judging you. We were simply reading what you had previously written.
It was relevant to this topic, so we commented on it. I have no idea why the old thread was found, probably it or your user name seemed familiar to someone? Deleting all your old posts just makes you look like you have something to hide
It is largely irrelevant. If you think you have been the victim of fraud, report it. NOW! Before the catalogue company do so and you look like you are making excuses after being found out
Now you have gone round deleting stuff etc though I can't help but wonder if you are trying to cover up for your OH having done the same again with some c+ck and b+ll story to avoid the debt/prevent shopping him to the police. I very much hope for your sake I'm wrong0

We and certainly I am not running up debts in other peoples names and I deleted old threads as I know its easy to judge people, irespective of past things that have gone on. Myabe that was wrong but I thought it best at the time, the way the post was going.
I am just so gutted emotionally and angry that a person I trusted has done this to me and now its going to be on my shoulders and god knows what the repucusions will be.
Who is the best person to report it to? The police??Rachel0

We have explained the repercussions. You need to decide whether to report the matter to the police and credit agencies. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

If it was me, i would go to the Police and tell them everything i know, i don't know what good it would do, but you're better covering your own back and protecting your innocence.
I would also do what has already been advised and change bank accounts etc.If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them~Dalai LamaHow people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours~Wayne DyerLet none find fault in others. Let them contact the Police. Don't be intimidated by the threat.rachel4331 wrote: »The same company has been calling our landline and threatening both me and dh with the police.
Did you literally let her use your cards, password and all? If so, that breaches the T&C's, leaving you liable. They believe I am acting as my step sister as the account has many similarities, including the password (it seems we have both used our fathers surname.) and bank card (which I allowed her to use in the early days.)
The Register of Births and Deaths will show otherwise. If they want to say that you have committed a fraud and that your step-sister doesn't exist, then invite them to put it all into writing and send it to you. They also claim my step sister is not real as there is no one with that dob existing
You mean he dosn't know? Ouch. You'd better level with everyone and fast. It may also protect other family members, as she is probably going to turn up again (they usually do), and try and rip someone else off.My hubby is going to go mental and I don't want to get family involved at this stage.
Unfortunately, the nature of these things is that there probably is quite a lot to come yet. Paying this off is unlikely to solve anything. Indeed, it makes it look is if you are the guilty party. What can I do, I just feel like paying it off but I fear the worst is yet to come.
This firm may be on the point of acting illegally. Is it worth me getting in touch with the police?
If you think your step sister has committed a crime, report her, as that will help to clear your yardarm. You owe her nothing. The family may not agree however, and may hate you in consequence.
