Hello
I have read so many of peoples threads I thought it was about time I started my own. I am 24 and have some debt but nothing drastic, I was spiralling down at the beginning of the year but in the last two months I have turned myself around and got out of trouble. I was forever going overdrawn (not an agreed overdraft) so getting charged £25 a pop, these charges just kept getting worse. But thanks to a bit of ebaying and well timed tax rebate I am now in credit at the end of each month, even if it just by a penny! I am also trying pay off my debt a bit more each month, so I should be debt free by Christmas 2011, hopefully earlier though!

I have mainly started this to face my own fears, take it by day instead of letting everything build up and then getting too down and scared to deal with it, even simple things like paying a bill used to petrify me. There is still a lot I need to work on but for now my money is my first goal!
1st: finances (debt, bedget, savings and holiday savings for May 2011)
2nd: weight, I am 13+stone  would like this to be 10.5 by holiday
3rd: emotions, i tend to get quite depressed from now and then
4th: work, I need to find something I like getting up for in the morning

This is it for now, will be back tomorrow, or later this evening, I am a MSE addict!!
Stop worrying, slow down, take it easy, have lots of fun and enjoy your one and only life :)

  • Right day no.2

Got some good news yesterday, our holiday is paid for next year by someone very kind, we just need to pay them a small amount each month, it should be paid off by the time we actually go. This way I can start to plan to save for spending money, travel insurance and other bits more easily, we are going to las vegas so will probably need to save up quite a bit. This has hindered my debt repayments by quite a bit, but... (always a but!) my best friend is getting married out there and I can not miss it, it will also be our only holiday next year, so we decided to go for two whole weeks, I think we will only go there once too so might as well enjoy it as much as possible with the money we save.
I am currently working on my debt repayment plan, my debts consist of loan, utlities companies and family loans. The last two have no interest and my bank loan the interest was imediatley added on, I just have my minumum payment monthly to make.
It feels so good to be getting myself organised, even if it is just one things at a time. Slowly but surely!
Stop worrying, slow down, take it easy, have lots of fun and enjoy your one and only life :)

  • Well I managed to resist temptation at lunch today in TKm and put down everything I had picked up, but I have to go Debenhams this evening and buy a pillow. I am going to go mad if I don't have a decent night's sleep soon, and I am positive that a new bouncy soft pillow will help. Just have to remind myself as I am walking past all the lovely clothes that I only need a pillow!

I have tackled some work at work this afternoon that has been worrying me, got LOTS more to tackle but it is a start and if I don't I will most likely be in some trouble :(
I just need to do one thing at a time and not be afraid of confrontation. My trouble is I bury my head in the sand and pretend it's not there. A brilliant technique to get a disciplinary! I started doing this when my mum got ill (5 years ago) and I had no idea how to cope with it, instead I pretended that it didn't effect me. I am now trying to face my fears, I think a major lack in confidence is 80% of the problem now. Just got to stop worrying so damn much about everything!

  • I know it is not the 1st of Jan yet but I am going to start my new year resolutions now so hopefully I can get them well into practice by then!

Not in any order what so ever, just as and when I think of them! I will probably keep adding and it will get ridiculously long, but it keeps them from circulating around my mind!

    1. Live to a budget
    2. Have emergency savings and pay off debts
    3. Eat healthly and exercise more
    4. Start yoga classes, or some sort of meditation
    5. Not be such a hermit, go out more!
    6. Make more of an effort with friends, family and bf
    7. Take more pictures and put them in albums
    8. Do 2 things that scare me each year (so far this year I have been zorbing and did the worlds tallest bungee jump!)
    9. Study, I really want to learn Italian
    10. Buy a car
Stop worrying, slow down, take it easy, have lots of fun and enjoy your one and only life :)

  • Feeling really down today, something flipped yesterday after work and I am sinking at the moment. I am holding back at work again and getting behind, the thought of people and the work I have to do is what is pushing me away. I know it is going to bug me all weekend. This happens so often, that I always think next week I will sort it all out once and for all, but it just does not happen. So I thought maybe if I wrote it down and admitted to myself that it is happening I will be able to just get on with it! All sounds so pathetic I know but I have to try. I am going to go and do 5 things and see what happens!

On the money front, I brought myself some nice pillows yesterday and slept SO much better last night, did buy some cushions for the sofa too but they were quite cheap and has made our very empty living room look a bit more lived in. At lunch today i brought some ginseng, I have heard it can help with mood and boost immune system so will take the months worth (not all at once!) and see if it makes a difference, even if it acts as a placebo I don't really mind if i trick myself!

Right off now to do 5 things...
