varifocals

Anyone got varifocals from specsavers or costco.
I'm looking at the specsavers "tailor made" or the costco equivalent, any comments from anyone, good or bad?

I have had two pairs of varifocals from Costco and one pair from specsavers and I have to say that the difference is vast. The costco ones are Varilux and cost £160 and they took no getting used to and are great. The Specsavers on the other hand - I don't know what make they are but they were £100 and I couldn't get used to them - they made me feel queasy.

I need new glasses ATM and will go back to Costco but I am going to buy my frames first (I want Valentino ones and they are much cheaper online) and then just get them glazed for £160 at Costco.

I just wish I could get the lenses cheaper but have tried with no luck. I am told that the BEST varifocals are Zeiss but they are about £360 so out my price bracket.

Costco do the essilor varilux physio and the zeiss gt2 3d, both at a similar price. I've usually had the zeiss single lenses in the past, but costco reckoned the essilor were better?

Essilor are really good, lenstec also do a cheaper "custom" vari which is kind of middle of the road but might be better on the budget?

I like the Hoya summit range but I'm not a wearer, I measure them up and I get less non tolerance with hoya lenses.

Never fitted a zeiss lens though sorry.

Thanks for the responses. it looks like costco win, but Zeiss or Essilor now?
