I am soon to get a lump sum off one of my OH friends(woo-hoo)

Anyway to get to my point,is there anything I can do to get them to settle for less than the total amount due

Due I just ask them or do I wait until a certain time - maybe near christmas?

Any advice would be very much appreciated :o
If you dont ask you dont get!!

  • Get who to settle for less than amount owed? Your friend? Surely you'd want everything that is owed? Wouldn't you?

    Sorry, but I am confused!

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • If you mean a reduced amount to your debt then yes you can ask for a full and final settlement figure. Assuming you haven't been making the full amount each month or regular payments then you will quite likely get a reduced total. If you pay on time and the required amount every month there is no harm in asking but I'd be surprised if they accept. :)
