Seems like the only thing with neews MSE help is the cost of the trip! £3,000

    Where are ya going? Mars:D

Tells us more about the trip and we might be able to give you advice:)

And if the trip is going anywhere warm, mind taking an extra suitcase and take me :D

I am going to america to see my friend who mother has passed away I will be there for 1 month. I will also be traveling to new york florida to see various of my friends relatives then I will be returning to london to get a plane to spain for 3 weeks so i class the 3 weeks as my holiday and then the 1 month personal reason.
  • I wish I hadn't put this up now. everyone just seems to be against me. If I still had the savings I wouldn't be having to worry about saving for this holiday but with whats happened (people dying) which I cannot help I haven't and I need to get the savings back. I might contact the administrator to see if can delete thread because i'm obviously just going to get aload of abuse here.

I don't think anyone is against you mysterygirl - it's just that your SOA is so unusual.

Simon was trying to make you smile (it seems) but I'm not sure you have noticed that.

So what month are you planning to take this trip? With a surplus of £461 a month you would have over £3000 easily in 7 months....... if you go after May, you will have the money just by putting this aside

I would respectfully suggest though that your current budget is unsustainable and unrealistic. Even if you really are spending £10 on feeding yourself at present (which is hard to believe, sorry) you cannot make a savings plan based on an amount too low to be good for your health. You need to be fit enough to enjoy your trip, don't you?

Don't feel that you're getting abused, apart from one stupid troll comment people have generally been helpful. I think people are just quite taken aback that someone can survive on so little food.

As for your holiday, it seems like there's not really anywhere else you can cut back to be honest, you have a decent amount of money left over each month to srvice your debts and save for a holiday so you should be fine.

Sorry to hear about the deaths in your family, it sounds like you've been through quite a rough time of it recently.

Mystery girl - I dont think anyone has responded abusively. Your first post seemed very specific (that you wanted to save for a holiday, not that you wanted to rebuild your savings) so people have tried to give you advice to that end. The majority of people who post up have incorrect SOAs that show a surplus when there shouldn’t be one, so we were trying to work out if that was the case here.

  • Sorry no I am not a troll 6 of my family members have died within 3 years of each other I do not go out I do not drink I only have my hair cut once a year I have alopecia so the person I go to just shaves it off for me and I am also recovering from a eating disorder so that is why my food at the moment is so low until I can bring myself up to normal eating I am sorry if you think I am one of these trolls and it disturbs me that you think I am one. I came here for advice and obviously I will not get that off some people. I am looking for a part time christmas job which I am finding it difficult as I only have administration experience and retail shops in my town are looking for people with retail experience but I am trying. As for entertainment I don't go out or anything like that I put £2 in there incase I do get a takeaway which I haven't done in since before my relatives died. I am still trying to get over the loss and I am deeply hurt and upset from the accusion that I am a troll.:(

    I apologise :(

I was too quick to judge :(

Can you combine your telephone with your tv package? just clutching at straws to be honest as you seem to have a fair bit left over every month. Also If you do have so much left over are you not making bigger repayments towards your debt? because if its not going on the debt and its not going on your outgoing then either your spending it without realising or its sitting in your bank 300 plus a month sitting in your bank would mean in 10 months youd have all your money?

  • Even if you spend only 32p a day on food (and do you not see from looking at other threads why people might have thought you'd missed a 0 ?), do you not have to occasionally buy soap or toothpaste or other cleaning products? Binliners? Hoover bags? Do you never drink tea or coffee? The occasional book or magazine? You really don't buy anything at all except bananas, frozen veg and pasta?

If that is genuinely the case, then, as others have said, you will be able to save up the necessary money in a few months without much trouble.
