Spring Rolls

I'm planning on making some spring rolls this evening.. yum. Have made them before so know the basics but can't find the recipe for the combination of spices/soy sauce etc for 'seasoning' the veggies. Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi lightisfading,

I had a quick look on google and liked the look of these links, although there are lots more.

    Spring rolls

    Baked pork spring rolls

    Crispy prawn rolls

By the looks of it the main ingredients are soy sauce, sesame oil, chilli or pepper, sugar, and cornflour. Maybe you could play around with those ingredients and invent your own?

  • Hi all
Where can you get the wrapers for spring rolls and are they deep fried?
Sorry a real male novice at this !!
  • They sell them in the chinese ingredients shop in town (in the frozen section).

They're meant to be deep fried, but i did mine in the oven last time and they came out fine :)

A word of advice; if you're going to deep fry them, the oil has to be VERY hot (hotter than your average deep fat fryer's thermostat will allow).

You need to fry them in the equivalent of the old chip pan, the oil needs to be close to smoking.

    But take care!!!!!!!

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.
