Hi, I have been looking at these shirts as a present for oh but i cannot understand what the inch measurement is next to the collar size(I am used to buying 15.5 )
    Please can someone explain!

After the collar size is sleeve length. Typically thirty-something inches.. I think that's what it signifies anyway. You need both measurements to ensure a good fit.

    Hope this helps,

The best place i've found for formal shirts is TK Maxx. You can get 100% cotton great quality branded shirts like YSL for £20. Most of the high street stores have easy care shirts for that price which just make you sweat.

Having said that, I did get an easy care shirt once from BHS about 9 years ago. It's been washed and worn 1000 times and still looks as good today and was only about £12! It's reached the point where its longevity has instilled sentimental value.

There are a few companies that come over from Hong Kong and/or India every quarter, they stay in a central London hotel and you go along, get measured up, and once they get back they make up your shirts. A friend of mine has all his shirts properly hand made like this, his intials are embroidered into the cuffs, etc, and they're only about £25 each

If they could throw in a complimentary take-away I may well take them up on that! :p
