Need to sell unwanted DVDs

Options
First posting on this site so go gently with me guys.

I have a few unwanted DVDs that I want to sell - most of them were bought new last year with the intention of giving them to my nephews as Xmas presents only to discover that they'd changed their minds at the last minute. I went on that Music Magpie and was horrified that they offered pennies for brand new untouched DVDs and I wondered if there was another site that anyone could recommend. I considered Ebay but I'm a bit apprehensive of selling stuff although I have bought from Ebay without a problem.

TIA

List the Dvds on here and people might be interested in buying some.. I might be too ;)

Or sell them as a bundle on Ebay.

Check what they are going for on Amazon - if it looks worth your while you could put it on Amazon marketplace. If they are new and sealed make sure you include that in the product description, undercut whatever the lowest price is (Amazon or other marketplace seller) then wait and see.

I checked out magpie today, hmmm - maybe ok for old well used stuff but poor value for new, sealed stuff. I got quoted 30p for a PC game - at that price I'm inclined to let the charity shop have it instead.

I agree with VintageToon, try selling them on ebay as a bundle. If they're kids films you could list them as a kids xmas gift - might get you a few more searches.

It's a shame that dvds and cds loose their value so quickly!

I would recommend Amazon marketplace or Play.com - both are really easy to use and brand new discs sell well on both.

For quicker sales Amazon would be my number 1 choice

it all depends on the title .

people like me keep bidding on i what i want till i get it at the price i want , cause there is always another one for sale of it is a main stream title. personally i don't like paying over £2.00 with P&P for a single DVD unless it is a rare dvd .

i will push the boat a little for a special Blu Ray , but 2nd hand DVD's are a buyers market .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

This and the amazon equivalent work fine but dont forget that they both take a substantial chunk in costs and expect you to post for free.
Might be worth having a look at Priceminster

Just to clarify - Amazon don't expect you to post for free, they give you a set amount towards postage. On Play the sale price is all you get and you pay for postage out of this.

Amazon give you £1.24 for postage. Average price for shipment of a standard DVD within the UK with 1st class is 96p, be careful with those double cases as they might have to go as packages (which case it's £1.74).

As Kite says, Amazon do give you £1.24 for postage for a DVD or CD and second class it will cost you 81p (large letter) plus a padded envelope. If its thicker than 250mm or larger than a piece of A4 paper in size then it would have to be sent as a packet instead, then the price goes up, as it does with extra weight over 100g

You can use the Royal Mail price finder tool for exact prices http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder?catId=23500532&gear=pricingcalc&campaignid=pricefinder_redirect
