hi there , i know everyone goes on about it being 6 yrs after you default but im sure i read somewhere that its 5 years in scotland? is this right?

Do you mean how long the default stays on your credit files?

Defaults stay on your credit files for 6 years from the default date in BOTH England and Scotland.

thats what i thought but ive just read something else on here that suggests it five years in scotland

Presumably youre in England,

Statute barred time is 5 years in Scotland, just in case thats whre you are.


this as above but reading it now, i think it just refers to statute barred

Yep. Just applies to the statute barred time limit.

Nothing to do with how long defaults stay on record. That is 6 years in Scotland, the same as England.
