It's called Come Rain, Come Shine
details from itv.com
Monday 20th December, 8.30pm
Sir David Jason stars in an emotional, contemporary family drama entitled Come Rain Come Shine.
Watch a preview in the video player above
Sir David will play cockney ex-docker Don, a man whose family means everything to him. Married to Dora, played by acclaimed actress Alison Steadman, the retired couple have two grown-up children, David and Joanne.
Written and developed by award-winning writer Jeff Pope, the story focuses on Don’s determination to keep his family afloat, emotionally and financially, after they lose virtually everything.
Don’s strong family values and simple lifestyle contrast vividly with the life his son David, (Shaun Evans), has carved for himself. With his elegant wife, Christina, and young son, Cameron, David lives in a big detached home nestling in a quiet, idyllic cul-de-sac. With Bentleys and flash cars on the driveway, property developer David lives the high life and mixes in circles alien to his working class upbringing.
However, all is not what it seems and we soon come to realise David is teetering on the brink of financial meltdown. ‘Come Rain Come Shine’ is a modern tale of how superficial life can be if you chase credit with no means to pay and no back up plan.
"For obvious reasons Sir David has been nervous of playing cockney characters, but I think he felt the chance to say something about the kind of reckless reliance on credit that has almost brought us to our knees was too good to miss," said writer Jeff Pope.
Come Rain Come Shine will be executive produced by Jeff, Sir David Jason and David Reynolds, who has been responsible for producing the highly successful, A Touch of Frost, Diamond Geezer and Ghost Boat with Sir David.

Too true but the cheeky blighteers have only gone and took the next payment of £17.95 (full price) out of my bank the day I received the first box, and I received the second box today - the monthly selections are meant to be sent every 4 weeks, not 4 DAYS!!! Not a happy bunny and emailed them to say refund that £17.95 immediately or else  :mad:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12
