ohh i didn't know that. i agree with them in principle but i dont advocate violence. I believe in my hero Mahatma Ghandi's way of dealing with seemingly unsurmountable problems.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it--always.

oh dear I am so sorry. keep warm and stay wrapped up. cold is bad when you fall as you dont heal as quickly.

Sorry about your falls boult, I fell last week but it was snowy rather than icy so didn't hurt too much (okay I did nearly cry, but no lasting damage really!).
Have you got to do the same journey tomorrow? do you have some 'grippier' shoes? or a walking pole at all you could use?

What are the best shoes with a grip?

Even my brasher's slip. One of the guys at work said to get shoes with spikes in them. Where do you get them from? will wellies work?

Spiky shoes would be good, my walking boots aren't great on ice - they look like they have good grips but somehow don't work well.
My best snow/ice shoes are some big boots that hardly look like they have any grip at all, they are totally flat, no arch and have thin 'hashes' all over the soles. Not sure why they work well, maybe its the type of rubber they are made from, or maybe is because there is a lot of surface contact with the ground??

Anyway, time for me to log off I think and relax with a book for a bit.

    Good night all.:)
