I've got so much to do - update my NSD's and locate the new thread for this month - update my signature - report in at NTN to recommence my very important troll-busting duties
But first an update on me Mam - went down this afternoon with my brother - Mam sitting in chair beside her bed, with table in front of her, sipping from a cup!! It was milk which they had obviously given her as it is thicker than water so easier to swallow, and will feed her as well. I fed her spoonfuls of chicken soup, then she drank a bottle of that ben*col probiotic drink from a cup, and then I gave her some cherry corner yoghurt. No problems, but she did complain of pain at the top inside of her right leg and 'pain between the tops of her legs'. I said it was probably off the catheter and told the doctor who wrote it down to be checked when Mam put to bed later - she said she may have a touch of thrush. Mam was in very good spirits, and we had a good laugh which was great, though she did ask when she would be going home
My Sister and Neice visited her in hospital tonight, to give me a night off, and Mam was still in her chair. They fed her soup, then custard and a cup of tea which she enjoyed lots. Sister asked the nurses why the drip was not there now to be told that it was no longer required as Mam was eating and drinking now. Sister asked what she was eating and drinking, apart from what we are feeding her, and was told that records showed that she had mince and mashed potato earlier. My Sister asked if Mam had eaten it and nurse said she must have as if the food is not eaten they have to make a note of it. We don't feel that she could have eaten that herself so are going to ask which nurse or carer fed her when we go tomorrow, to see if she is actually eating it. Otherwise, she is fineMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
