Happy Birthday Kit, hope you have a fantastic day.
Hi Everybody else, hope people in the north east are surviving the snow ok. Durham had its fair share of snow overnight and this morning. This morning there was about 2 inches of snow on my car and it was 'Blizzard' like conditions. But I managed to get into work ok. Hope you are ok Miche!!!
So Sad Angel is there any snow down your neck of the woods?

First of all, MAM - my brother went down from 10.30 to 1.30 when Mam was awake but not too talkative - I think that getting breakfast, meds/nebuliser and then getting changed/washed/bed changed tires her out and she takes till the afternoon for her to recover, as I went down with my sister at 2 pm till 4.20 pm she was much brighter and talking a bit more
We had the TV on and a children's quiz-type programme came on and she was watching it, commenting on it and laughing. Scooby-Doo came on and she recognised it and began smilling straight away, giggling through it. so when that finished and a 'normal' programme came on we switched it over to a kiddies channel so she could watch that. She obviously could respond to the colourful simple cartoon-type programme which was great as it made her happy and relaxed
The doctor came to see her and explained that they had decided not to get her up to sit in the chair as it would not be good for her with her health problems, so we asked about how uncorfortable she is getting lying in bed now for so long. The Doc advised that we could massage her legs and flex them slowly to help with this, which we sill start to do tomorrow. Although she had been good when we were there, she clammed up and turned her head when we said we were going and would be back tomorrow - she obviously was upset that we were leaving her there, but we made her smile again at the thought of us going back out into the snow

And now the SNOW  Having started at 3 pm yesterday, it snowed more or less continually till this morning, so the car was covered in at least 3 inches of snow when I needed it at 1.30 pm - had to use brush to clear the bonnet, windscreen and front of roof. The roads were very bad this morning - my neice had terrible trouble getting to work and her husband found the same driving into Newcastle - about an hour to go 4 or 5 miles  We decided to go early to see Mam so we were back home before it got bad again - in fact it did start to snow again just as we left the care home at 4.20 pm and it is starting to freeze up now
