do you think all these instore offers will be sold out by "normal" shopping time eg 10am ?

I don't think stock will go that soon. I actually don't think initial demand will be as high as last year although over the week I'm sure it'll pick up.

FWIW, Tesco online were quoting 4-5 days earlier when I ordered but I've got my despatch email already. Fingers X'd the clubcard bonuses register.

In my opinion the deals aren't that good so the queues won't be as bad as last year and they won't sell out so quickly. However, I'm not a gamer, I just buy them for my sons so I could be underestimating how desperate people are for the game! There have been some good pre-order offers though so maybe more people have ordered online. Now I'm rambling ............

I dont think that the 'deal' will make any difference. This game is so massive for gamers (I know as I have a 15yr old son). I went last year and paid £40 for MW2 and there was a queue of goodness knows how many people there, would guess at 300-400.
Personally, I am just about to leave for Sainsburys to get my son his copy. I fully expecting to have to queue for some time!

i would check first but if tomorrow is the 1st time your store is selling it i.e no midnight release then it may be limited to 1 per customer , that's how it normally goes , you may have to take along 3 other peeps with u

I would also be careful that if you are going along to Sainsbury's expecting to do grocery shopping at midnight to get the discount they may not actually be open for grocery sales. WH Smith did this with the last Harry Potter book - spend £15 and get the book half price. On the night when they finally opened they told everyone in the queue that they could ONLY buy the HP book and nothing else. There were nearly riots and it pee'd people off big time.
I have visions that unless the Sainsbury's that is opening is normally a 24 hour one you will not be able to get the deal tonight.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
  • I think demand will be high, I'm off in a short while to Tesco with 2 mates and we have a combined age of just over 100!!!!

After a call to my local tesco earlier they had a queue of approx 50 people at 7.30. It is a very large store and they only had 200 of each version so we will see how it goes, fingers crossed.
They have the internet on computers now!!!
  • My local only has a small games department so i'm hoping they'll have some when I get there.
The woman over the phone said that the game is available to buy from one minute past midnight..does anyone know how they're gonna do it as people are going to there local stores now, I wouldnt fancy hangin round with a trolley full of stuff for a couple of hours? Will they provide a special receipt with discount on it and we get the game on a seperate transaction??
Beginning to panic that I should be in the store now!!:o
  • Oh no! Someone on HDUK has quoted that they have called up a store and have been told that they would only be able to buy the game tonight and not groceries.
When I called before it sounded like I would be able to by my shopping.
  • Go damn you all.

I was all set to go tomorrow morning, now I am off to Sainsbury to get it tonight, panicked that it will be all sold out!

Thanks for freaking out a 30 year old (on the sly geek)

p.s my GF is confused to say the least, its only a computer game she said!. Imagine if Jimmy Choo had a 50% sale i said!

    :rotfl:

Once again, boo to you all.............. ;)
