I live locally so go once or twice a year. Love going there.
They offer a discounted entry fee normally if you have a reciept from one of the local supermarkets. Even better now its free!
Well worth going if you are popping up to the lakes for a day out or a weekend away, its easy to reach as its on the main road into Barrow-in-Furness. :-):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
Cheers for this - I am in the Lakes next weekend, so this has sorted out where to visit on Saturday! Sounds like an interesting day to look forward to.0

This place is brill, the animals seem happy enough and they seem to have enough space. They have Lemurs, just wandering around the park, its a bit strange the first time you see them, but you soon get used to them trotting around.
They have some part to play in the conservation of the Sumatran Tiger & had a cub born a few weeks ago; I think it should be on show (indoors) to the public now
If anyone goes, take some cash for the guide book, its £2.50 and an absolute steal for that price! Its got loads of information about its animals in there, an excellent reference book - dont leave the park without one.
I know it sounds like it, but no, I dont work for the place, I just really enjoy going.
When the free entry ends, you can (could) get in using the Tesco days out vouchers, so still really cheap.0 -
I was there last year while we were on our hols in the Lake district and we had a fantastic day out. I wish more places would do that kind of offer.I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters0

This is fab - we're going up to my parents in a couple of weeks who live South Lakes so will be taking our DD here for her first exotic animals - she's loved visits to our local farm park this summer so think she'll love it.
Sammy85 - Please can you tell me which supermarkets count as local enough for the discount thing so I can see if my parents do a shop there as would be lovely to go back in the summer. Thanks a lot.0 -
Fantastic find OP, we live near and were planning to go this weekend anyway!! Made my day!!You never know how strong you are until you have no other option.0
