OH has not been paid new rate for the last 2 weeks. (Still getting £5.05/hr).
What can she do about it?

Is she working a week or two in hand? If so,then she is still being paid for work done before the increase. If not, then she should mention it to her employer.0

One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
if the increase does not get paid get in touch with your local Inland Revenue office and report the employer. Too many employers are getting away with not paying the nmw-its one of the best things the lab gov has done for the work force, we must ensure its implemented!RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Has she raised it with her employer? The fact that they were paying her the old MW indicates that they are aware that it exists. Prob just an oversite.0

I've just started a job, I work one day (Fri) and get paid that day in cash. I've been paid £5.10 per hour.
As I'm on trial, I was very uncomfortable raising this issue with my boss so played the I might be wrong but I thought it was £5.35 game.
She said she hadn't been informed of the increase and that she usually gets a letter telling her. I'll see what happens on Friday this week but maybe there has been some kind of admin error. Perhaps your employer genuinely isn't aware - I know that a lot of employers abuse the system but it is worth giving them the benefit of the doubt (in the first instance anyway!)7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

Apparently boss didn't know of increase and has now decided that she can't afford me after all.
Bit p-ed off, it wasn't much but it was MY job....

You may have a legal case against this employer. They cannot dismiss you because of your request to be paid the National Minimum Wage. It's possible that they will just go ahead and employ someone else who is less aware of their rights.
From the detailed guide to the National Minimum WageA worker may also bring a claim to an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal or victimisation if his employer sacks him or takes some other action against him for trying to ensure that he gets paid the minimum wage, or simply because the worker is (or is going to become) eligible for the minimum wage. Thanks but I was on a months trial so not a leg to stand on.
FWIW, I think it is probably genuine - I've seen the takings for the day I work and her margins can't be that big. Its just annoying that I was just begininning to find my feet and enjoying working again.
I think that part of it is down to poor management - she was telling me that she hasn't raised her prices for over a year but that she hasn't had time to redo it yet. The main menu finally went up on Friday but none of the cakes/biscuits etc have been changed yet.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
