What does the official receiver do?

My husband and I were declared bankrupt last Thursday (28th October). We have a telephone interview with the official receiver next Monday and I'm really nervous. Please can you tell me what they will ask and what they'll want to do after that? For example will they come to my house and take stock of all our possessions, or will they want all our bank statements for the last year...? Thank you.

The examiner will go through the paperwork you filed at court, and also ask various questions to build up a picture of why BR happened.
They won't come to your house.0 -

No..they wont.....welcome, BTW.
During the 'interview' the OR's rep will need to confirm your creditors...and the information placed on your BR forms...
They will discuss any queries regarding your SOA...basically getting all the details straight................ before they go off sorting out your creditors.
There are threads on here giving more details..my interview was 18 months ago now, so memory is a little hazy, and mine was straight forward....be helpful rather than evasive....No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Try not to panic, they are really only trying to find out how you managed to get in this mess, they will not come to the house or take anything you need for day to day living, the only want your bank statements and if you have anything of value or shares etc. Just answer the questions and you will be fine. Bank statements and credit card statements, details of your borrowing etc.If you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0
