Rockwell Debt Collection Agency
I took a £5000 loan out with Alliance & Leicester in 2007. I managed to repay half of the loan before losing my job. Eventually, Santander (who bought out A&L) sold my outstanding debt to a company called Wescot, who in turn sold it to a company called Rockwell Debt Collection Agency. I have been paying a monthly sum to Rockwell for the past 6 months. I have now been made aware that Rockwell should have supplied me with a true copy of the agreement under S.78 (1) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (which they didn't) and a signed true copy of the deed of assignment of the agreement (which they didn't).
I would like to know if a) I was obliged to pay any of this money to Rockwell Debt Collection Agency and b) Am I able to recover any of the money I have paid to them to date?
I would appreciate any advice anyone can give.

They dont have to supply you the information if you don't ask for it. Why create paperwork? They will probably have it.
Send Rockwell the CCA req letter - template on the forum and send a £1 postal order made payable to Rockwell. Always send a PO as you dont sign it and its aint got your bank details. Also in your letter print your name, don't sign (as some companies have been known to "create" a missing document). They should reply in 12 days + 2 overlap. If not their in breach of the request.
If its a 2007 loan there is a high chance all paperwork is legit as I started claiming back in 07 when this situation came to light.
Good luck.0
