A happy thing!

IR tried to charge us a £152.40 surcharge for late payment which we appealed because we had already contacted them and set up a repayment scheme. A few weeks back we got a letter which sounded like a bit of a fob off - you know 'thanks for your letter but...blah, blah, our policy is blah blah', so we assumed that we were still gonna have pay it. Soooo chuffed then today to get another letter:

Dear You,

I refer to your appeal against the 2004-05 Surcharge Notice.

I can advise that your appeal has been accepted and the surcharge cancelled.

etc etc bit more waffle

Yours Sincerely

Us IR blood suckers xxxxx
