My fiance has money

Hello all.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to the site. It certainly helps in one of the lowest points of all.
Hopefully someone can help me out.
I am preparing to declare bankruptcy, I have hundreds of thousands worth of property debt that has now become unmanageable and I do not see any other alternatives.
I would like to know what happens to any assets my fiance has. We live in a big house and have nice things but they are all owned and paid for by her. I now have no income but she can pay for all our food and luxuries like sky etc. Can someone explain how I would account for this. Do I just explain it to the OR when they come round to visit or will they not believe me?
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the board.
The first thing to know is that no one will come to your house and look at things.
The second thing to do is ring one of the debt charities in my and talk to them about your options.
Do you make any contributions to your OH at all for food, bills, mortgage etc?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Hi Troubled2 and Welcome, As long as you and your fiance have no joint accounts (bank, credit cards) and the house is in her name then it shouldn't affect her finances. First thing make a list of all your creditors, debts and assets. Secondly and most important is contact one of the following debt charities. Please try these they don't charge and are impartial. They will go through all your options with you and if they suggest bankruptcy then come back to this board and we will help you all we can. Also if your not ‘clicking’ with one of the Debt charities do try another.
Please don’t do anything rash take your time and weigh up your options and read everything you can x

Thanks for your replies. I do not have to contribute on paper if I don't ned to but of course it is helpful if I bring money in as well.
My worry of using someone like CAB is that they are not really giving specific expert advice but perhaps I am wrong. My fiance wants us to go to a specialist solicitor. Will I get a better advice from them or will it just be more expensive0 -
That will be more expense to be honest......the CAB national debtline or consumer credit councelling service will do the same free of charge
CAB? initially its an appt with an advisor...then they should make a further appt with a debt management advisorWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
