Debranding and Flashing a mobile

Got one of these San Francisco/Blade mobile's on Orange and have got it unlocked but was wanting to get it debranded to remove all the Orange stuff, gonna use a T-Mobile sim in it.
Know that its all the rage over on modaco at the moment but this is beyond my computor capabilities.
Does anyone know of anyone in the Belfast area who is knowledgable about this stuff and can do it, I have tried one or two shops who didn't even know the phone.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not surprised mobile shops haven't heard of it, and that (along with the fact that most people here will also not have heard of it) is probably why you haven't had any responses.
I will say this: doing it yourself is not that difficult. I did it a couple of weeks ago on this model, and the modaco instructions were excellent. I'd never done anything like it before, but the only place I came unstuck was finding the settings for internet access for Tesco Mobile (ended up phoning them and they talked me through the settings because the phone wasn't on *their* database either), but I realised afterwards I could probably have copied the settings from another phone that was already set up on the same network. Otherwise - piece of cake :-)0 -
Yeah, lol - really struggling, for fear of a mistake and screwing up the phone.
Have watched the video on you tube as well but when he says "copy it to this directory" he doesn't say the name of the directory.

Hi Folks
Just as a matter of interest - what do you think of the phone , I have a HTC desire on android and my daughter wont leave it alone and has asked for one for christmas - for which she has no hope!!! She particularly likes apps such as paper toss and teeter. How does this phone handle these?
Thanks in advance

I've been using a Wildfire (which my son has been playing around with, games and you tube etc) but he's been very keen on the SanFran especially with the clarity of the screen compared to the wildfire.
Theres a lot of great info on the modaco forums plus some very good video's that will give you a good feel for the phone but when you consider the price - its fantastic value (especially if you can get rid of all the Orange stuff).
He'll get the phone tomorrow so no doubt I will get more feedback on the games.

The San Francisco is a great phone for the price. There are a couple of little things about it that I don't like - there's no flash for the camera, and the LED indicator in very un-obvious iyswim, but as Raven said, the screen clarity is excellent. I was looking for an Android phone with wifi (so it could hook into the home internet rather than using up the data allowance all the time) and there isn't anything else out there that compares with the SF at under £100 (or even under £200).0

Would you mind posting the Tesco settings you received? Was this for their Sim Only £10 a month deal? I have one of these in a San Francisco and I have googled the wap settings but there are 2 different versions floating around I wondered which one you were advised.
Many Thanks0 -
I too was looking for a good android phone. Wanted a desire but then jumped at the £10 a month sim only deal from tesco (ultd mins/ultd texts/500mb data) and the desire is really only affordable (for me) on contract. So did a wee bit of research of android phones and opted for the SF.
I think this is an unbelievably great phone for the money. The only downsides are low volume of some mp3s and lack of led indicator to notify when a message is received, oh and the camera is not great but, does the job.
Worth the money and if you know someone on orange I hear an orange customer can get this phone for £79.
Overall I would highly recommend this phone.0 -
Another vote as a desire user i have now bought 2 as gifts great phone!!0
