Hi, my husband is self employed and we file his tax return online. Any ideas how we get proof if his income?! Many Thanks

Once returns are filed the Inland Revenue should send out a SA302 form which shows the figures.

Usually the easiest way other than an accountant.

You have your annual accounts, profit and loss figures?

    That should be fine.

Having your own set of accounts will not be sufficient for a lender. They would need to be verified by an accountant or Inland Revenue.

  • HMRC don't sent out SA302s if you file online. You either show the mortgage company the equivalent SA302 form that is generated through online filing (basically your tax calculation form) or you can order "official" copies of the SA302 from your tax office.
  • A mortgage company will accept your accounts - if they are signed off by your accountant..
