Ideal World had a show on the other night dedicated to Poppy Jewlery made with Swarovsk Crystals, with a percentage going to the Poppy Appeal. I've not seen Colleen's so can't say if it was the same, but the one's on IW looked really nice.

I think the designer was Kleshna

I've just had a look at the ones on Ideal World and one looks like the one Colleen wore, but at £84 its a bit too far out of my budget, looks like it will have to be the Buckley poppy for me then, thanks

:eek:Surplus & Outdoor are selling those Buckley poppies for £34.99! Twice as much as the poppy store etc! Bet the difference isn't being donated to the intended cause...
  • More than twice as much, they are £9.99 from the British Legion!

Not that they are in stock any longer with the British Legion (the stock is showing as -78!).

    26 on eBay.

Stock in Poppy Shop now showing as -7 - can't buy and statement on site saying:

'Due to the overwhelming popularity of this item we are not able to guarantee delivery before remembrance on any new orders placed'

One sold on eBay for £175 last night - seller stated it was '18ct' when it's '18ct plated' - I hope the seller can sleep at night with not giving any of the profit to the RBL. Some sellers are donating between 10% and 20% to the RBL but still making a sizeable profit.

Annoys me that one person has sold three and said in their listings '
I bought a few of these for family and these are what I have got left that no body wants and as these are for a great charity I would like to give someone the oppurtunity of wearing one.'

As you're not giving anything further to the RBL than the £9.99 each that you paid for them, when don't you give them away to friends? Or to a charity shop? No, you decided to make a profit of £120 (minus fees) on them.

    Rant over.

After my posting yesterday morning about my disgust, I e-mailed The Dail Mail to bring it to their attention.

The story appeared yesterday afternoon (might be totally unrelated to my e-mail but they have singled out the £175 poppy) on their website:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1326239/Gold-plated-bling-poppy-sells-eBay-175-demand-soars.html

Other newspaper websites have picked up the story.

good on you ! i think its time things like this were publisised
the thing that makes me a little concerened about all of these new poppy designs is that , the original paper and pin ones were made start to finish by the veterans and this i taking that away from them
