my hubby has a drink prob - he wont admit it
I drink more than him some days but I know that the amount I drink is excessive because of my personal stresses (sp) I am a binge drinker! I drink most days but only cos I'm lazy -my dh (is that right for hubby?) drinks stella every night(4+ cans every night) & more at weekends

The alcohol help thread is about half way down that page at the mo... it really does seem like a very supportive thread for anyone affected by an alcohol problem.
I have no useful advice but I just want to say, well done for posting about it as it can't be easy... I hope you can get the help and support you need

Please don't take this the wrong way but if you are drinking because of stress and drinking more than him is it possible you have a problem aswell?
As soon as you rely on something to alleviate (sp) a problem you have an addiction.
Perhaps you should both attend AA meetings. Have a look at their website http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/ and also have a look at the alcohol help thread provided above. You will get lots of understanding support there.
Good luck. I hope you get everything sorted.

Im 6 weeks sober, proof that if you want to do anything, you can do it
Then again he has to WANT to do it, but you will feel much better without poisoning your bodies

but i mean well done on the 6 weeks as well, its just that generally the first few months of abstinance are down to the initial buzz of not doing that activity...if in 6 months to a year you still havnt drunk a drop i will congratulate you

im getting concerend about my sister she HAS to drink every night a least 1 bottle of wine but usually 2 , she stays out all night 2-3 times a week drinking. she gets awful moods if i wont drive her to the shops to get it, she flys in to rages if i ever mention anything about her drinking habits, and says its none of my business , and im only saying it cause i dont drink ( i dont drink due to medication i have to take), im worrying more and more about her, she lost her last job because she was tking days off 'ill' which was just a hang over. she is working now in a kitchen at a hotel when she finishes work she sits at the bar drinking instead of going home, she spends almost most of her wages on booze. like i said i dont know what to do my mum has tried talking to her aswel, but she gets so nasty when we say anything, its only cause we care

In my experience is very difficult to cut down the amount you drink, but relatively easy to stop altogether.
Don't dismiss the idea of stopping as too restrictive, in fact it gives you your life back, and stops you from planning your days around opportunities to drink.0
