cheap washing machine

just had a call from my mum saying her washing machine's broken down (not surprised as they use it alot!)
she doesn't want to buy a expensive one as she's going to renovate her house after christmas, and doesn't mind buying a second had one as long as it's in good condition.
she would like atleast 1400rpm and a load of approx 7kg.
i've searched but i'm going round in circles!!!
please help...

There's a Samsung 1400rpm ABA rated washer dryer with 7kg wash/5kg dry capacity at Kitchen Science for £428.98.

Is this a bit steep for what you're looking for?

Can you fix it between you?
Check the water pump filter housing. Get full of socks and coins.

I'm in the same boat - fixed mine myself - put new brushes in the motor was great for a bit now its making knockin noises from the drum on high spin could be bearings or drum weights and I really can't be bothered strippin it all down again for somat else to go wrong soon. Its done 5 years of hard use. I'm goin for something with a bit less spin speed for economy: 1200 and say 7k load can be got for around the £200 mark. Bad time as per usual just before xmas.

hiya i got a new washing machine a hotpint 16oospin 8 kg load from whitebox.co.uk
have used them 3 times in the last 4 years and have had no problems at all they are cheaper than comet currys etc
