how much cellophane to wrap hampers?!

We're making little hampers for family & friends this year for Xmas.

The baskets are 23cm in diameter, about 8 cm high. Into these, we're hoping to put 3 or 4 jars of chutney and a few teeny tiny bottles of booze, with a few little other nibbly things thrown in as fillers.

Has anyone any idea how much cellophane wrap we're going to need per basket please?

many thanks

Liz

You can usually buy a metre at the florists for around £1.00. Start off by buying a metre and try wrapping a hamper and see how many you get out of it and then you can work out what you will need from that and see if you can buy a roll off Ebay or a florists supplier website cheaper.

id usually say a metre a piece, but yours are quite small so id work it out logically and then leave some room.

i.e. 23cm+8cm+8cm+ scrunching room of 10cm = 39cm (that works right? or have a made a maths idiot of myself?!! lol)

Or 'wrap' it an a tape measure to see what length you need. the width is usually always the same as wrapping paper, so you only need to measure the widest part - underneath then up to the top leaving scruch room. im fairly sure my equation works!!

    EDIT-

just noticed that was the measurement for the basket, without stuff it in. id give it a metre with tins in!! lol
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'
