Hi there, does anyone know where one could get a mattress to trial before they commit to spending a fortune (again) and only to find out that the matress they have purchased is RUBBISH again even though it cost a fortune? Many thanks, Kind regards

I don't know about a free trial before you pay. There are some on line sellers who will allow you to try out a mattress for a week or two, and then exchange it if you don't like it, but I think with all of them you have to pay first.0

would you be happy to buy a mattress that some one had slept on for even one night ?? if you do find a retailer who does this come back and tell us who so i know where NOT to spend my money !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi Tim, thanks for that. I would happily pay for the mattress under the terms that I could return it if it were unsuitable.....I have invaded the internet but yet to find a company who offers that service apart from Tempur but after reading reviews about them, I am not entirely sure I want one?! Any ideas, or are you not allowed to say - Many thanks0

I'm afraid I can't say, but they are out there. Just stay away from the big retailers, and it should be easier to find them.0 -

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I think some of the big chains like Dreams will 'give' you a trial period where you can buy a mattress and change your mind in the first month and they will exchange it to another model of your choice.
Ikea is another name that pop into mind
The Dreams 'Comfort Exchange Guarantee' applies to mattresses only (sold to retail customers who have not had an individual/special discount) and not divan bases, bedsteads, odd sizes or Showroom Clearance mattresses. If after 30 days, allowing time to get used to your new mattress), and before 40 days from delivery (or collection) the customer decides their choice of mattress is proving uncomfortable, they may then re-select an alternative Dreams mattress of the same size and for the same (or higher) value than the original. Any accompanying divan base or bedstead cannot be exchanged. Any difference in price must be paid at the time of re-selection. The original mattress must be kept in good condition (not marked, mis-used or soiled in any way) so we strongly recommend the use of a mattress protector. Delivery charges will apply for a Comfort Exchange if delivered.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

They also insist that you have to buy the base from them to qualify. And they won't give you a refund. Also you have to consider that Dreams are Very Very over priced in the first place (even at their so called sale prices).0
