in Cutting tax
Okay I've just got my first council tax bill through of £128 a month, to pay on my own as I live with two students. I've been told that I can't get 25% single person discount until I've paid for a third of the total year although they have put me on reduced payments of £84 a month until march- There is no way I can afford even £84.
The people I live with (my partner and a friend), do not work, they pretty much live off student loans and their parents, meaning its left to me to pay for gas, electricity, most of the food, on top of this I have rent to pay for and some personal debts. I earn less than £850 a month after tax. Theres no point in asking the boys to help me out financially because they simply don't have the money, and, when they do, it disappears in seconds, and I can't move out as I have nowhere else to go.
I'm being kept awake at night worrying about all this, is there anything that can be done? The council have told me that I most likely won't be elligable for even council tax benefit to help me pay for even some of the bill.

This is a bigger problem that just paying for council tax - why are two people living with you who don't contribute to anything??? I would head over to the debt free wannabe board and post your SOA so someone can advise you. But seems to me you need to tell your partner and friend to get real.0
